The puzzle of Life

Oh, Lord, why must life be so confusing?
My sanity I seem to be losing.
My life seems like a puzzle.
The trees in the wind do rustle
As my mind floats away
To find out the way.
I feel that a piece is missing.
The picture is still out of sight,
O, Lord, can this be right!
I feel so lost,
In the raging waves I am tossed.
Frustration overwhelms me
As I try to force the pieces-
A mess is all I can see.
My life is a puzzle.
As I place my faith in the Lord
And draw out my sword,
The pieces begin to move-
The Lords power begins to prove!
In every trial and tribulation
We grow a little more
As we are taught how to soar
And the Lord opens every right door.
As the pieces come together
A beautiful picture begins to shine through;
The picture that God himself drew.
Life may be like a puzzle
But through life and all the hustle-
The Lord strengthens and molds
For our whole future He holds.
So place your faith in the Lord
And you shall have your reward.
Through all the pain and strife,
Here you have it….
The puzzle of life.

  1. Willing to try a risk? The thoughts in your poem are incredible, but they are lost in what is called a forced rhyme -- where the poet forces words into lines just so they rhyme at the end. Take your poem and write it as a paragraph and change one of the end rhyme words so it flows more naturally.

Read it a couple of times, then copy it and send it to me -- or post it on your blog -- and tell me how it changes the depth of your message.
